A couple months ago I celebrated a milestone birthday…..I turned 60!   I couldn’t believe it…..suddenly I was in the decade of my life that always seemed so far away.

Getting older has never been an issue for me and, in all honesty, I was pretty excited to be 60 years old.  I felt certain that this new decade of my life was going to be my “next great adventure.”

Although I wasn’t quite sure what that was going to look like, I was ready to change things up a bit so I decided to start by taking a look at my “someday list.”

I’ve had a someday list for years.  It’s my wish list of all the things I know I want to do “someday.”  And the first thing on my list was owning a tiny house.

I always imagined that my dream of living in a tiny house would be a part of my retirement plan and, when I made my list, my retirement seemed pretty far away.  Now that I’m 60, I feel like it’s going to be here before I know it so I better get started on my plans!

While my mind was spinning with ideas about a tiny house, I knew that before I settled into my tiny house, I wanted to do some more traveling.  And that’s when it hit me……why not have a tiny house that I can travel in?  I can’t think of a better way to have some great adventures and so, my search for a camper van began.

Buying a camper van was something I had considered in the past, but it wasn’t until I saw them everywhere on my recent road trip that I really got hooked on the idea.  In fact, every time I passed a camper van on the road, I would say out loud, “I want some of that.”  As you can imagine, during my two week road trip I was saying that phrase ALOT!

When I got back from my trip I started looking in earnest at camper vans and, before long, I found the ONE.  As soon as I stepped inside, I knew instantly that this Winnebago Vita was the one for me.

My enthusiasm for the camper van quickly spread to my mom and my sister and I was thrilled because I could not ask for better partners to have on this new adventure.

Everything was falling into place and, with my sister by my side, I signed on the dotted line and we were given the keys to our “Vita!”   (I think my head is still spinning….lol!)

Was this a huge leap of faith for me?  You bet.  Was I scared?  You have no idea how scary this was for me, but the reality is that all too often we are not living our dreams because we are living our fears.  The worries that haunt us can potentially keep us from fulfilling our deepest desires and I knew that I did not want that to be my story.  I was ready for my next great adventure!
