It finally happened!  Last Sunday was the first Nourish retreat and the day was everything I had hoped it would be.  The women who attended were extraordinary, the weather was beautiful, the energy was amazing and I think we all felt “nourished” in many ways.   Of course there were things that I want to improve on for our next retreat, but overall I would say it was a success.  Naturally, it is easy for me to say that now since the event is behind me, but I know I did not feel that self assured in the days leading up to the event.   My mind was racing with “what if’s” which we all know is definitely not productive!  As my anxiety was building, I came across an article which talked about “pre wins.”  This concept was new to me and it was a total game changer so I just had to share it with you!

All too often we measure our success based on the outcome of a situation.  If we have a good outcome, we consider that a “win.”  If we have a not so good outcome, it’s easy to go down the proverbial rabbit hole and feel like we failed.  It’s human nature for us to think this way, but what if we turned that thinking around?  What if we measured our success on the fact that we took action in the first place?  In other words, forget about the outcome and acknowledge that simply by taking action we have already won!   That is a “pre win” my friends!   Told you it was a game changer!

Now, I know this may take some getting used to (especially for perfectionists like me) but thinking this way eliminates the fear of the outcome and gives you a big shot of confidence to keep you going strong.  Doing things that might seem difficult are much easier to work on when you have the confidence in yourself.

When we dare to dream and open our hearts to what we truly desire, the world is our oyster.  When we focus our attention on the action, everything that happens after that is a bonus because we have already won!

So for me, the measure of my success was not about what happened during the retreat.  The measure of my success was that I had the courage to face my fears and turn my vision into a reality.  Fear keeps us small.  Don’t let the fear of the outcome stop you from living your dreams.

If you need some inspiration to get you started, check out the photo below.  As you begin each day, say these words out loud.  Feel the strength and confidence radiate throughout your body.  Repeat the words often as you go about your day and notice how they transform your thoughts.

BE KIND.  BE BRAVE.  BE AWESOME.
BE KIND.  BE BRAVE.  BE AWESOME.
BE KIND.  BE BRAVE.  BE AWESOME.

Hope you have the best day ever!
